Students will put their math skills to the test with fun games based on real-world applications of math. In Decisions, players attempt to increase their wealth through strategic decision making in buying and selling stocks. The emphasis is on accurate computation and record keeping. At the end of the game, students compute the value balances for each stock, count the cash on hand, and add it to the value balance sum to determine net worth. In Budget, the realities of real-life economics are experienced as players buy a home, pay insurance costs, make investments, etc. If the budget projection is reasonably accurate, the player collects a bonus on payday. The game Bank Account provides players with extensive experience in handling a bank account by engaging in life-simulating transactions. Deposits are made, checks are drawn, and an account balance is maintained. Set includes Decisions, Budget, Real-World Math:Unexpected Events, and Bank Account. Each game is for 2-4 or 2-5 players. Grade 3 and up. |
